The American Cipher Case

It should be noted that during a rally in March this year, the then Prime Minister Imran Khan took out a letter from his pocket and claimed that the opposition's no-confidence motion against him was the result of a 'foreign conspiracy' due to his foreign policy. and funds were sent from abroad to remove him from power.

Although he initially did not provide any specific details about the threatening letter, he later gave few details as critics doubted his claim.

The former government initially offered to share the letter with the Chief Justice of Pakistan, but later the prime minister also briefed his cabinet members on the contents of the letter.

A group of journalists were briefed on the Cabinet meeting during a conversation with the Prime Minister in view of the legal ban on the disclosure of confidential documents.

No foreign government was named in the meeting, but media persons were told that a senior official of the host country had asked the Pakistani ambassador to inform him of Prime Minister Imran Khan's foreign policy, particularly his visits to Russia and Ukraine. There are problems with the attitude towards war.

The diplomatic cable was reportedly sent on March 7, a day before the opposition tabled a no-confidence motion and convened a session of the National Assembly to vote on it.

Meanwhile, it was also revealed separately that this diplomatic cable was sent by Asad Majeed, the then ambassador of Pakistan to the US, based on a meeting with Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Donald Lowe.

Later, the PTI government termed this diplomatic cable as a conspiracy to end its power and called a meeting of the National Security Committee on it.
