The government has once again increased the prices of petroleum products by increasing the price of petrol by Rs 2.7 paise and the price of diesel by Rs 2.99 paise per litre.



In a statement issued by the Finance Division, it was stated that the government has changed the prices of petroleum products, the new prices will be applicable from September 1, 2022.

New prices per liter of petroleum products

  • Petrol 235 rupees 98 paise
  • Diesel 247 rupees 43 paise
  • Kerosene 210 rupees 32 paise
  • Light diesel oil 201 rupees 54 paise

According to the press release, the price of petrol has been increased by 2 rupees 7 paise, the price of diesel has been increased by 2 rupees 99 paise, while the price of kerosene oil has been increased by 10 rupees 92 and the price of light diesel has been increased by 9 rupees 79 paise.

It should be noted that on August 15, the federal government had increased the price of petrol by 6 rupees 72 paise per liter while changing the prices of petroleum products.

In the announcement issued by the Ministry of Finance, it has been said that in the light of changes in oil prices and exchange rates in the international market, the government has decided to pass on the effects of changes in the prices of petroleum products to the public.

The statement said that the change in the prices of petroleum products will be implemented from August 16.

According to the Ministry of Finance, after the increase in the price of petrol per liter by Rs 6 72 paise, the new price will be Rs 233 91 paise.

The government has reduced the price of high speed diesel by 51 paise and the new price will be Rs 244 44 paise.

Similarly, the price of kerosene has been reduced by one rupee 67 paise per liter and the new price has been set at Rs 199 40 paise per liter.

The federal government has also increased the price of light diesel oil by 43 paise and the new price will be Rs 191 75 paise.

Earlier, on July 31, the government had announced a reduction in the price of petrol by Rs 3.5 paise per liter and an increase in the price of diesel by Rs 8.95 paise.

Finance Minister Miftah Ismail had said in a tweet that the government can reduce the price of petrol by 3 rupees 5 paise per liter, but the price of diesel is being increased by 8 rupees 95 paise.
