Islamabad Inspector General of Police Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan has revealed that the government is spending 24 crore rupees annually on the security of former Prime Minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

During the proceedings, IG Akbar Nasir was asked about the reasons for withdrawing Imran Khan's security and canceling the licenses of private security companies appointed to protect him.
The IG told the committee that apart from two private security companies, 266 personnel from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan Police, Frontier Constabulary and Rangers have been deployed for Imran Khan's security.
The committee was told that the licenses were revoked by the Ministry of Home Affairs, but they were still performing security duties.
The IG Police said that like former prime ministers Raja Pervez Ashraf, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Yousuf Raza Geelani, Imran Khan was also provided with five security guards.
Senator Mohsin Aziz said the former prime minister was a 'world leader' who had spoken about Islamophobia several times.

Expressing concern over the decision, Mohsin Aziz said that the security agencies and the police themselves have confirmed the threats and the orders to withdraw Imran Khan's security in this situation are 'illegal and inappropriate'.
He further said that these actions of Imran Khan are not liked by the West.
PTI Senator Dr Shahzad Wasim remarked that the withdrawal of Imran Khan's security is worrisome.
