ISLAMABAD: Speaker Asad Qaiser has adjourned the sitting of National Assembly till Monday, March 28 after offering prayers for the forgiveness of late members.
In a meeting chaired by Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser, prayers were offered for the forgiveness of the late members of the Assembly, former President Rafiq Tarar, Senator Rehman Malik, those who were martyred in the Peshawar mosque blast and others who died.
After a prayer of forgiveness by Federal Minister Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, the Speaker National Assembly announced to adjourn the sitting till Monday 28 March.
Asad Qaiser said that it is part of the tradition of the National Assembly that if a Member of Parliament has passed away, then the sitting of that day is adjourned for one day and I also sit for one day while maintaining this tradition. Announce the postponement.
Asad Qaiser further said that he would take action against the no-confidence motion tabled by the opposition in accordance with the law.
It may be recalled that a 15-point agenda of today assembly session was also released which included a no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Extraordinary security arrangements were made for the National Assembly session and section 144 was enforced in the red zone and the sensitive area was completely sealed off.
Islamabad Police, Rangers and FC personnel were deployed at various places. No irrational person was allowed to enter the red zone. However, employees going to the red zone were allowed to show their office cards.
Guidelines have also been issued to MNA for the National Assembly session stating that guests will be barred from entering the National Assembly session. Bringing along with MNS, ministerial security guards and personal staff will also be prohibited.
The directive states that MP will be required to park their vehicles in designated parking lots, and shuttle service will be started for MNE from Parliament Lodges to Parliament House.
The Federal Capital Territory Traffic Police said that entry and exit to the red zone is allowed only from Margalla Road. Serena Chowk, Nadra Chowk, Express Chowk and Ayub Chowk will remain closed for entry and exit in the red zone.
