Reacting to the Prime Minister announcement to dissolve the National Assembly, journalists said that even the umpires were stunned by the Prime Minister action.

The no-confidence motion against Prime Minister Imran Khan was rejected before the vote. Deputy Speaker National Assembly Qasim Suri dismissed the no-confidence motion as unconstitutional. The President has been advised to dissolve the Assembly.

He said that using the powers conferred on him under Article 54 (3) of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, he dismissed the meeting convened on Friday, March 25, 2022.
At the same time, he adjourned the sitting of the lower house indefinitely.
