Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Finance Minister Timur Saleem Jhagra presented the province's budget of Rs 1,332 billion for the new financial year.
In his budget speech, the finance minister criticized the previous governments and said that we have created more jobs than the previous three governments.
"When we got the government, there was a monthly current account deficit of ارب 2 billion, which we eliminated in just two years," he said.
In his budget speech, he said that a historic tax has been collected this year and most jobs have been created.
Referring to the government of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, he said that Imran Khan had taken historic steps towards a welfare state which had never been done in the history of this country which included Ehsas card, shelter, farmer card and health card. Which provided medical facilities to 170 million Pakistanis.
He said that in just two months of today's government, the situation is that the dollar has gone up from Rs 178 to Rs 202, petrol from Rs 150 to Rs 210, electricity from Rs 17 to Rs 25 per unit and gas from Rs 579. This inflation bomb has come in the last two months. If the government could not run then why the government took it.
He said that the monthly current deficit of two billion dollars was eliminated in two years.

Highlights of the budget
The budget of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for the next financial year is Rs. 1332 billion
Salary increase is in addition to DRA for Grade 1 to 19 employees.
Expenditure of merged districts will be Rs. 222.90 billion.
The budget has set aside Rs. 913.80 billion for current expenditure
It is proposed to allocate Rs. 447.9 billion for the salaries of government employees
The budget proposes to keep Rs 107 billion in Punjab
Rs 10.30 billion will be set aside for subsidy items for the entire province.
The budget will incur a debt of Rs 16.30 billion
Allocate Rs. 1.1 billion for the eradication of coronavirus and polio
The budget includes a proposal to allocate Rs 26 billion for poverty alleviation projects
The total development budget of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa including foreign aid and loans is Rs. 418 billion.
The budget also includes Rs 93 billion in development programs and foreign aid
In the budget for the next financial year, 2,239 development projects are proposed for the province
The provincial government will release 92% of the development fund and spend 8% on new projects.
Proposal to complete 556 new and ongoing projects during next financial year

He said that through Public Private Partnership, various projects including Peshawar, DI Khan, Swat Expressway Two and Dir Motorway would be launched.
The highest development budget is proposed to be allocated for the repair of 47.8 billion roads
Budget 23-2022 proposes Rs. 37 billion for multisectoral development and Rs. 23 billion for health.
Department proposes to allocate Rs 16.99 billion for primary and secondary education and Rs 37 billion for local governments.
Rs 447.90 billion has been allocated for salaries and settlement districts
Rs 372 billion has been earmarked for salaries in the districts
An amount of Rs. 75 billion has been allocated for salaries for the merged districts
Rs 107 billion has been earmarked this year for pension payments, including in the merged districts
Apart from salary, Rs. 247 billion has been allocated for district and emergency expenses
Rs 111 billion has also been allocated for district and other current expenditure

The volume of Pakhtunkhwa development program is Rs. 418 billion.

He said that 16 per cent increase in salaries and 15 per cent increase in pensions of government employees has been proposed while the salaries of most employees would be increased by 31 per cent.
According to the provincial minister, a further 15 per cent increase has been proposed in the personnel allowance for police, rescue and forest department while the police martyrs package has also been increased.
The expenditure of Bando Basti districts is estimated at Rs. 1109 billion
The expenditure of the amalgamated districts will be Rs. 223 billion.

He said that the rate of taxes reduced last year has been maintained this year while the rate of taxes of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority is the lowest as compared to other provinces.
He said that PFM law would be introduced to make the financial system more transparent.
Insaf Food Card Subsidy Program
Rs 26 billion allocated for providing rations at discounted rates to one million deserving families of the province
25 billion has been allocated for Health Card Plus
From January 2022, treatment for five more diseases, including liver transplants, will be included in the Health Card Plus
These diseases include thalassemia, advanced cancer treatment and bone marrow transplant
Rs 53 billion has been allocated for MTI Allied Hospitals and Medical Colleges
Four more MTIs and four new medical colleges will also be set up in the province
Rs. 3 billion has been earmarked for providing functional and best services to district hospitals
2.7 billion allocated from the ongoing budget for running 58 secondary care hospitals in 24 districts of the province in collaboration with the private sector.
More than ارب 2 billion allocated for primary care rewamp program
He said that for the first time in the history of the province, economic autonomy has been given to more than one thousand basic health centers by giving DDO codes.
The provincial finance minister said that Rs. 2 billion has been allocated in the current budget for running primary health centers in 15 districts in collaboration with the private sector to provide better health services.
He said that a subsidy of Rs. 50 crore has been provided for the provision of MRI services through PPP in 8 districts.
He said that Rs. 1.3 billion has been earmarked for launching Maternal Ambulance Service in the province for the health of pregnant women and newborns.
He said that Rs 10 billion has been allocated for taking the services of Rescue 1122 to all tehsil level while the fire brigade service would be integrated in Rescue 1122.
He said that Rs 50 crore has been allocated for Peshawar Safe City while Rs 18 billion has been allocated for Village and Neighborhood Government.
He said that Rs 16 billion has been earmarked for development budget for Village and Neighborhood Government while Rs 2 billion has been earmarked for sanitation.
He said that Rs 37 billion has been allocated for Tehsil Municipal Authorities and District Development Authorities.
The provincial minister said that Bank of Khyber was providing loans of Rs 25 billion even in difficult economic conditions.
He said that the federal government had not given a single rupee to the province in the net profit of hydropower. He said that the federal government has raised Rs 21 billion for the first time since last year after merging the funds of the merged districts.
The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader said that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had signed 40 MoUs worth 8 8 billion at the Dubai Expo. ارب 1 billion Letter of Interest has been submitted to Kuwait Investment Authority.
He said that Rs. 18 crore has been allocated for drug free environment program. The capacity of drug rehabilitation centers has been increased from 100 to 1,000.
He said that Rs.47.8 billion has been earmarked for improving access through strong road network in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He informed the meeting that a record Rs 2 billion has been allocated for tackling climate change while Rs 15.5 billion has been earmarked for eco-friendly tourism.
He said that Rs. 3 billion has been allocated for the promotion of science and information technology
