Multinational transport operating service 'Seoul' has announced the closure of inner city transport service across Pakistan.
Seoul, a transport company in the Middle East, launched its services in Pakistan in July 2019 from Lahore, the capital of Punjab, and two months later, in the federal capital Islamabad.
After Lahore and Islamabad, Seoul had started services in Karachi, the capital of Sindh province at the end of 2019, but during the Corona epidemic, there was a significant difference in its earnings.
Following the end of the Corona Lockdown and the increase in petroleum products in the country and the reduced use of the service by consumers, the company has now announced the closure of the inner city travel service.
Seoul, in a message sent to its customers on June 2, confirmed in a statement that inter-city services in other cities, including Karachi, Islamabad, Lahore and Faisalabad, would be suspended from June 3.
According to the statement, transport facilities will be closed only within the city while the service will be available for customers from one city to another, in addition to the 'Business to Business' service will also continue.
The company confirmed the closure of the inner-city transport service, citing economic problems and said its service was being affected by the ongoing global economic crisis.
The company did not explicitly mention the rise in prices of petroleum products in Pakistan, but did confirm that the company was suspending inter-city service.
The company hinted that services in the inner city may be restored once the economic situation improves, but it is too early to say.
The Seoul service was most popular in Karachi and thousands of people used to reach the office from home daily using the service of the said transport company.
