In the Asia Cup 2022, India won the first position in Group A by defeating Hong Kong by 40 runs.



In the fourth match of the Asia Cup played in Dubai, Hong Kong captain Nazakat Khan invited India to bat first after winning the toss.

India's two openers KL Rahul and Rohit Sharma shared a partnership of 38 runs but captain Sharma was dismissed for 21 runs.

KL Rahul was the second and last batsman to get out, scoring 36 off 39 balls, including 2 sixes.

India gave the unheralded team a hard time by scoring 192 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.

Kohli scored 59 runs off 44 balls with 3 sixes and a four, but it was actually young Surya Kumar Yadav's innings that led India to the big total, with 6 sixes and 6 fours off 26 balls. Played an aggressive turn of 68 runs.

Hong Kong's Mohammad Ghazanfar and Ayush Shukla took one wicket each.

Chasing the target, Hong Kong suffered their first loss for 12 runs when Yassim Murtaza was dismissed for 9 runs.

Captain Nazakat Khan and Babarhiyat formed a good partnership for the second wicket for Hong Kong and took the score to 51 runs.

Captain Nazakat Khan's short innings of 10 runs was ended by Jadeja running out through excellent fielding.

Babar Hayat scored 41 off 35 balls, which included 3 fours and 2 sixes, before being dismissed by Jadeja with a brilliant catch by Aveesh Khan.

Hong Kong's Aizaz Khan was the fourth batsman to be dismissed for 14 runs and the team's score at that time was 105 runs.

Chasing the target, the unheralded team's fifth wicket fell at 116 when Kunchit Shah was dismissed for 30 off Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

Hong Kong scored 152 runs for 5 wickets in the allotted 20 overs and lost the match by 40 runs.

India's Surya Kumar was adjudged the man of the match.

It should be noted that India defeated Pakistan by 5 wickets in the first match of Group A.

Pakistan and Hong Kong will compete in the second match on Friday.
