In the important match of Asia Cup 2022, Sri Lanka defeated Bangladesh by 2 wickets by scoring 184 runs for 8 wickets thanks to the responsible batting of Kaushal Mendes and captain Dasan Shanaka.

In the fifth match of Asia Cup 2022 played in Dubai, Sri Lanka won the toss and invited Bangladesh to bat first.

Mehdi Hasan Miraz and Sabir Rahman opened the innings for Bangladesh and shared a partnership of 19 runs in 3 overs.

Sabir Rehman was dismissed for 5 runs then captain Shakib Al Hasan came in to bat and took the score to 58 runs but Mehdi Hasan Miraz was dismissed for 38 runs.
