The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has once again appointed former Australian opener Matthew Hayden as the batting mentor of the national team for the T20 World Cup.

This move by the PCB seems to be a continuation of the decision taken last year where the national team hired Matthew Hayden in the T20 World Cup last year and this decision proved to be quite correct.

Pakistan played well in the round matches of the T20 World Cup held in the United Arab Emirates last year and won the honor of remaining unbeaten by defeating all opponents including India.

However, in the semi-final of the event, Australia crushed the dream of winning the event by defeating the national team.

Hayden will join the Pakistani squad in Brisbane on October 15 when the national team arrives in Australia after playing the tri-nation series in New Zealand.

Chairman PCB Ramiz Raja said, "I congratulate Matthew Hayden on rejoining the squad, his abilities are recognized worldwide, he will bring with him a wealth of knowledge about Australian conditions and I am sure His inclusion will greatly benefit our highly talented cricketers for the World Cup and future tours.

In this regard, Matthew Hayden gave a statement and said that I am extremely excited to be made the batting mentor of the Pakistan team for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup in Australia.

He said that I have seen how Pakistan has performed in the T20 Asia Cup and the win against India on Sunday was very impressive.

The former Australian opener said, "I think this Pakistan team has all the skills required to perform well in Australia and the conditions will suit them both from the batting and bowling point of view."

He said that this team has covered all the areas in the best manner and I am sure that it will give the best performance in the World Cup like last year.
