 ISLAMABAD: The Meteorological Department has predicted more than normal rains during this month of August and said that as a result of stormy rains, there is a risk of floods and landslides in mountain streams including Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh.

  The meteorological department has said that the twin cities of Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Kasur, Sahiwal, Sargodha, Khushab, Bhakkar, Leh, Mianwali, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Dir, Swat.  , Peshawar, Mardan, Malakand, Bajaur, Lakki Marwat, Kohot, Bannu, Tank local river channels are likely to flood and inundate areas.

 There is also a risk of landslides in Kashmir, Guliyat, Murree, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Chilas, Diamer, Gilgit, Hunza, Astoravaraskar II.  Travelers and tourists should travel keeping in mind the weather conditions and be more careful during the journey.  

According to the report, during the next 24 hours, there is a possibility of more rain with strong winds and thunder in Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Northeast Balochistan, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.

 Meanwhile, heavy rain is expected at a few places in Kashmir, Upper and Central Punjab, Islamabad and Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. During the last 24 hours, there were thunderstorms in Punjab, Balochistan, Islamabad, Kashmir, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Lower Sindh and Gilgit-Baltistan. 

 It rained.  Highest rainfall in Okara 96, Sahiwal 47, Mangala 44, Rawalpindi 40, Islamabad 36, Jhelum 34, Narowal 29, Gujranwala 26, Mandi Bahawaldin 25, Toba Tek Singh 24, Jhang 23, Lahore 23, Sialkot 22, Hafizabad 22,  Kasur 16, Khanewal 10, Noorpur Thal 9, Kasur 7, Jhelum 5, Gujarat, Murree, Faisalabad 3, Bahawalnagar 2, DG Khan 1, Zhob 45, Lasbela 16, Sabi 12, Barkhan 3, Gwadar 1, Muzaffarabad 64, Garhi  Dupatta 26, Kotli 21, Rawalkot 2, Deer 17, Charat 8, Mardan 5, Bannu 3, Droshaik, Bunji 7, Bagrot, Gilgit 3, Gopas, Skardu and Babosar recorded 2 mm of rain.  

According to the temperature report recorded on Sunday, the temperature has been recorded in Dalbandin, Nokundi 42 and Shaheed Benazirabad 41 degrees Celsius.
