The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has taken note of the incident of violence and firing between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and PML-N workers in PP-167 constituency of Lahore Provincial Assembly. Issue instructions to Lahore.
The Election Commission has taken notice of the incident of violence and firing in Lahore and has taken immediate action.
The District Monitoring Officer of the Election Commission, while instructing the CCPO Lahore to investigate the incident, said that a detailed inquiry report into the incident of violence and firing should be compiled immediately.

The Election Commissioner Punjab has said that after investigation, strict and immediate action will be taken against all those involved in the incident and all those involved in the incident will be punished according to law.
The District Monitoring Officer further said in his notice that the political affiliation of any individual would not be taken into consideration during the operation and impartial and transparent action would be taken as per law.
The Provincial Election Commissioner said that instructions should be issued to all police officers to ensure strict implementation of the code of conduct and action would be taken against those violating the code of conduct.
Earlier in the day, PTI leaders had claimed that their election office in Lahore's PP-167 constituency was attacked by deviant party member Nazir Ahmad Chauhan on Saturday night.

Nazir Ahmad Chauhan, a deviant member of PTI, was elected MPA from the same constituency PP-167.
Reacting to the incident, former federal minister and senior PTI leader Hamad Azhar had alleged that Nazir Chauhan, the looted PML-N candidate, along with a policeman, had attacked the PTI's PP-167 headquarters at night. The office was attacked while Nazir Chauhan also leveled similar allegations against PTI.

Reacting to the incident, PTI leader Shahbaz Gul said that Nazir Chauhan and his thugs attacked the election office of the party candidate in Allah Ho Chowk.

Nazir Chauhan was one of the 25 PTI lawmakers in the Punjab Assembly who were de-seated by the ECP in April for voting for Hamza Shahbaz in the Punjab Chief Ministerial election.
A Dawn report said that Nazir Chauhan is a possible candidate of PML-N from PP-167 constituency while by-elections for 20 out of 25 seats will be held on July 17, the remaining 5 out of 25 seats are reserved seats.

Meanwhile, in a press conference today, Nazir Chauhan claimed that more than 100 PTI workers attacked him with sticks and weapons on Saturday night.

He further claimed that PTI knows that PML-N will win from constituency PP-167, so it is using such tactics, because it knows that it will lose.
Nazir Chauhan also demanded from Punjab Police, security agencies and senior provincial officials to provide him security.
DIG Operations has formed an investigation committee, Lahore Police
Meanwhile, a Lahore police spokesman said in a statement that authorities had launched an operation to identify and search for the attacker.
A Lahore police spokesman added that no one would be allowed to take the law into their own hands.

He further said that strict action would be taken against the accused for firing and spreading panic.
The spokesman added that police officials had also obtained CCTV footage of the incident.
The Lahore police official further said that law and order would be ensured during the by-election campaign and electoral code of conduct would be enforced.
A Lahore police spokesman reiterated that no one was above the law and strict action would be taken against violators.
