The Meteorological Department has forecast that a series of torrential rains across the country will begin on Monday, June 20, due to the entry of strong systems from the upper and central regions.
According to the latest advisory issued by the Meteorological Department, a series of torrential rains with extensive winds and thundershowers will begin in the upper and central parts of the country between Monday, June 20 and Wednesday, June 22.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has also issued a similar advisory instructing all concerned agencies to remain alert.
Meteorological Department said that Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Dir, Swat, Buner, Shangla, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Swabi, Peshawar, Nowshera, Mardan, Charsadda, Bajaur, Mohmand, Khyber, Khurram, Kohat, Lucky. Rains and thundershowers are also expected in Marwat, Bannu, Dera Ismail Khan and Waziristan.

The advisory further said that Punjab including Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mianwali, Sargodha, Khushab, Bukhar, Layyah, Dera Ghazi Khan, Hafizabad, Faisalabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Sialkot. , Narowal, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Bahawalpur and Multan will also receive heavy rains from Monday to Wednesday night.
Similarly in Kashmir including Bhimber, Kotli, Mirpur, Poonch, Bagh, Haveli, Hathian, Muzaffarabad and Neelam Valley as well as Gilgit-Baltistan including Ghazar, Gilgit, Diamer, Hunza and Skardu besides Balochistan in Zhob, Sherani, Musa Khel, Kohlu, Heavy rains are also forecast in Barkhan.
Heavy rains are expected in Sukkur, Larkana, Kashmore, Shikarpur, Jakabad, Shaheed Benazirabad, Dadu, Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Karachi, Dera Bugti, Jaffarabad, Naseerabad, Lasbela and Khasdar from Tuesday to Wednesday evening. .
The advisory issued by the NDM said that due to this series of heavy rains, landslides in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Galyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, in addition to floods in most parts of the country, and inundation of low-lying areas. It is feared to come.

According to the advisory, in view of this situation, the NDMA has directed all the concerned federal, provincial ministries, their subordinate agencies including the Press Information Department, Gilgit-Baltistan, State and District Disaster Management Authorities to take immediate action against any related emergency. Instructions have been issued to deal with it and to take timely and precautionary measures to ensure that any possible loss of life and property is avoided.
It was further informed that PDMA and DDMA have been instructed to liaise with all the concerned agencies, to ensure pre-availability of de-watering pumps for emergency machinery and staff including low lying areas, so that the weather Due to floods in residential areas and timely action can be taken in case of blockage of roads.
Local Rescue Services Departments have been instructed to conduct massive awareness campaigns to warn the residents of flood-prone areas, especially those traveling to tourist destinations, to beware of unnecessary movement.
