Pakistan team was bowled out for 233 runs in the first innings of the second Test match against Sri Lanka, while Sri Lanka scored a huge lead of 147 runs in the first innings and scored 176 runs in the second innings to gain a total lead of 323 runs.



At the end of the third day of the second Test of the series being played in Galle, Sri Lanka scored 176 runs for 5 wickets and took the lead over Pakistan.

When Sri Lanka started batting in the second innings, Naroshan Dakwila and Oshada Fernando started with 27 runs, but Naseem Shah ended Naroshan's innings for 15 runs.

Yasir Shah took Pakistan's second wicket to 47 runs when Oshada was out for 19, Kaushal Mendes returned to the pavilion with 15 runs.

Angelo Mathews' wicket fell on 100 runs and he played an innings of 35 runs.

The last batsman to be dismissed on the third day of the match was Dinesh Chandimil who scored 21 runs and was dismissed for a total score of 117.

At the end of the third day, Sri Lanka scored 176 runs for 5 wickets and the overall lead was 323 runs.

Earlier on the third day of the match, Pakistan resumed the first incomplete innings with 191 runs and 7 out. Hasan Ali and Yasir Shah were at the wicket.

The two players put on a 32-run partnership for the eighth wicket, Hasan Ali becoming the wicket of Prabhat Jayasuriya after scoring 21 runs.

It did not take long for Sri Lanka to wrap up Pakistan's innings after that and the entire team left the pavilion for 233 runs, with Yasir Shah scoring 26 runs.

In this way, Sri Lanka took a big lead of 147 runs in the first innings and strengthened their grip on the match.

On behalf of Sri Lanka, Ramesh Mendsen bowled well and took 5 wickets while Jayasuriya took 3 wickets.

It may be recalled that Sri Lanka scored 378 runs in the first innings with the help of half-centuries from Ushada Fernando, Dinesh Chandimal and Nirushan Dakwila.

Pakistan won the first Test of the series to take a 0-1 lead in the series.
